Lot 215 Fine E. Kirchhoff German Drillings
#736; bbl cal. marked 7.8 mm & 16 ga. 26 3/4" long bbl. Marked "Krupp Stahl" Top of the rib between the claw mounts marked "E. Kirchhoff, Dieringhausen. R" Shotgun bores are good condition w/some pitting. Rifle bore is clean showing good rifling. Bbls are nitro proofed. Receiver is grey w/elaborate stag & floral engraving. Left hammer has been repaired. Fore arm shows age cracks inside but in good shape on the exterior. Lever under the trigger opens the action while lever on the top tang switches the bbls. Gun is in good overall condition w/much original blue remaining on the bbl. Wood is solid but shows wear from use. Has crossed hatched horn butt plate & grip cap. Rear sling swivel in stock is absent. Otherwise a fine example of an early Nitro proofed exposed hammer German Drillings.
